So, let's talk about it. Equal opportunities aren't enough. Period. 

We need to do more to foster true inclusion and belonging by advocating for and developing inclusive and equitable action. 

The term "equity" refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality. Equality means providing the same to everyone. At first glance, this sounds good… Right? 

But equity means recognising that we don't all start from the same place. It means we need to acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. This is a better way of living. 

Equity is something that Lucocoa stands for. The cocoa supply chain is broken, and equity doesn't underpin the industry. Some fundamental and serious action needs to be taken. Our cocoa suppliers and farmers are important to us; their equity and compensation are our concerns. So we choose to source the best beans and pay their worth. 

Many of our farmers are women, and we celebrate the equitable opportunities they get. We just want to see this same ethos across the cocoa industry.
